Calculate

The Calculate node as it appears in the workflow editor.

What it does

Perform a numeric calculation.

Both inputs are used as numbers for the selected calculation. Division and remainder cannot use zero as the second value; whole-number results stay whole while fractional results remain decimal values.

Typical use

Calculate a score, total, difference, remainder, minimum, or maximum from two numeric values.

How to use it

  1. Add it from DataOpen the node library and choose Calculate from Data.
  2. Connect the workflow pathConnect Flow in from the previous step and Flow to the next step.
  3. Choose settings and connect valuesSet A, B, Operation. Connections can also supply values produced by earlier nodes.

Settings

These are the options shown when you add this node. A connected value can replace a setting when the workflow runs.

SettingStarting valueWhat it controls
A0Used when First number is not connected from an earlier node.
B0Used when Second number is not connected from an earlier node.
OperationaddChooses the calculation or change this node performs.

Value connections

Value connections pass information between nodes without changing the order of the workflow. When an input is not connected, BotFrame uses the value selected in the node or details from the starting Discord event when available.
